Keeping On The Right Side Of The Law

I’m feeling more and more lately that I need to buy this poster.

This is how I feel some days.

    • #2 by tialys on August 29, 2020 - 08:45

Thank goodness we’ve got our distractions.

      • #3 by onecreativefamily on August 29, 2020 - 12:41

That is true. I’d be sitting in a corner crying otherwise

  2. #4 by Wild Daffodil on August 28, 2020 - 15:37

    HaHa!!!!
It’s one of my very good reasons for living alone! 🙂

    • #5 by tialys on August 29, 2020 - 08:44

Nothing to do with the occupants of the house – all to do with outside sources – at the moment, at least 😉

  3. #7 by Laurie Graves on August 28, 2020 - 15:42

    Tee-hee!

  4. #9 by Tina Long on August 28, 2020 - 15:49

😟 could you change that to French neighbours !!

I think you know who I mean!

  5. #11 by nanacathy2 on August 28, 2020 - 16:49

Oh dear, sorry to see you feeling this. xx

    • #12 by tialys on August 29, 2020 - 08:46

Don’t worry – it was mostly in jest.
      Mostly.

  6. #13 by Loraine in Northumberland on August 28, 2020 - 17:51

    haha, love it!

    • #14 by tialys on August 29, 2020 - 08:48

Somtimes, these slogans really resonate don’t they.

Keep on sewing! Sewing supplies must be the very last things to get packed when a move is imminent.

    • #16 by tialys on August 29, 2020 - 08:50

Very definitely!! Although they will probably form the bulk of my packing 😱
I must perform a serious de-stash before we go – taking boxes full of scraps, for example, wouldn’t go down very well.

  8. #17 by sew2pro on August 28, 2020 - 21:19

This is very much why I run (sewing often makes me want to smash up my machine with a mallet – it’s such a princess).
Hope all is well for you and yours and that normal services soon resume…

    • #18 by tialys on August 29, 2020 - 08:54

Ah, yes, the diva sewing machine. I used to have an overlocker like that so I know that can make you feel capable of violence.
I’d still rather sew than run though – although Zumba can get me through a bad patch and classes start again soon. After all this time though, I’ll probably just end up as a grease spot on the floor at the end of the hour.

  9. #19 by anne54 on August 29, 2020 - 00:17

Life must be hard at the moment, and change is always difficult. I hope you are through to the other side very soon. xx

    • #20 by tialys on August 29, 2020 - 09:02

I’m not going to complain too much about it as, in the scheme of things, my problems are trivial. I’m trying to stay positive about the change and look at it as a new stage of my life. In fact, it’s not the actual change making me feel murderous, it’s the process and some of the people involved in making it happen that are the problem.

  10. #21 by kathyreeves on August 29, 2020 - 04:10

    Uh Oh!

    • #22 by tialys on August 29, 2020 - 09:06

I’m sure we all feel like this from time to time.

      • #23 by kathyreeves on August 29, 2020 - 14:40

I certainly do! Hope something or someone delivers joy to you today!

      • #24 by tialys on August 29, 2020 - 14:49

        Thank you. 😘

  11. #25 by katechiconi on August 29, 2020 - 04:36

Keep Calm and Eat Cake. Or whatever your palate leans towards… Who would you currently like to bury your sharpest scissors in? Who deserves to have their eyeballs used for pincushions? Tell your Auntie Kate all.

    • #26 by tialys on August 29, 2020 - 09:12

I’m beyond food comfort at the moment – I’m not much of a cake eater anyway.
As you have asked for specifics of my violent thoughts, I have a couple of (French) neighbours I would happily rotary cut into fat quarters and some Estate Agents I would consign to the scrap bin. Wait until we’re further down the buying/selling line and solicitors are involved – who knows what I’ll be capable of then.

      • #27 by katechiconi on August 29, 2020 - 09:15

Sounds like they should all be turned into jelly rolls, fat quarters are too good for them. And maybe hack at them a little with a blunt, notched blade, too. Courage, my friend. This too shall pass. Eventually.

      • #28 by tialys on August 29, 2020 - 09:21

        🤣
We’d make a good hit (wo)man team – famous for our novel ways of dispatching targets.

      • #29 by katechiconi on August 29, 2020 - 09:25

Either that, or we’d make a fabulous assassination team because no-one would ever guess how the hits were made and we’d have a long and profitable career despatching vile neighbours and inefficient tradespersons and suppliers… Who’d suspect a pair of respectable middle aged ladies with traditional hobbies?

      • #30 by tialys on August 29, 2020 - 09:30

Haha! That reminds me of a long, long ago episode of ‘The Avengers’ I think it was, where the killer turned out to be an elderly woman who dispatched her victims with her knitting needles. My little brother (that’s how long ago it was) was terrified of ‘the knitting needle lady’ and had nightmares about her for ages. Another method for our repertoire though. I wonder what I could do with a crochet hook.

      • #31 by katechiconi on August 29, 2020 - 18:59

I believe the ancient Egyptians used something rather similar for removing the brains from the bodies of those they were embalming, via the nose. Eeuw. But I could certainly visualise threatening a cowering victim or two with one of the ‘jumbo’ sized versions 😉

      • #32 by Wild Daffodil on August 31, 2020 - 09:56

Ha Ha – you two!!!! I see a spoof International Hit Duo series in the making – slicing people up into Fat Quarters is my favourite. ‘Arsenic and Old Lace’ 2020 stylie.

  12. #33 by cedar51 on August 29, 2020 - 05:19

I’m partially with katechiconi – Keep Calm and Eat Cake…

    • #34 by tialys on August 29, 2020 - 09:15

Cake doesn’t do it for me I’m afraid – I’ll continue with the challenging foundation paper piecing I’ve been doing which, coupled with a good audio book, seems to do the trick for a few hours.

      • #35 by cedar51 on August 29, 2020 - 09:41

okay then Keep Calm and Keep crafting … I understand that kind of thought. Someone suggested to me the other day “buy a coffee” and I said “sorry, gone off coffee!” They were stunned…

  13. #36 by Kim on August 29, 2020 - 10:43

    Brilliant poster.
Remind me never to upset you or katechiconi 😂 If you’re accepting apprentices I’m definitely the right material. Hope life isn’t too challenging at present – but if you are arrested and jailed there are enough of us to break you out 😁

    • #37 by tialys on August 29, 2020 - 11:34

I’ll bear you in mind in case business takes off and we need reinforcements. Interview techniques will involve asking you questions such as ‘what can you do with a stitch holder?’ and ‘do you have any inventive ways to use an embroidery hoop?’. We might be in touch – I think you would be a good candidate.

      • #38 by Kim on August 29, 2020 - 15:49

        😂😂😂

      • #39 by Wild Daffodil on August 31, 2020 - 09:59

Omg – tightening the screw on an embroidery hoop, verrrry slowly, just came to mind! Maybe I should start knitting you all balaclavas.

      • #40 by tialys on August 31, 2020 - 10:23

I see you’re really getting into this. We might call on you for ideas if we ever get a contract, along with The Material Lady who has already applied for an apprenticeship.😁

  14. #41 by CurlsnSkirls on August 31, 2020 - 16:29

I thought that sign was wonderful.
    And then I started reading comments . . . . . 😳

If there was ever a yen to cross a pond, not many over here would be familiar with such an inventive idea . . . just sayin’ . . . 🤪
    🙈 🙉 🙊

    • #42 by tialys on August 31, 2020 - 18:12

So does that mean I won’t be interviewing any Americans?

      • #43 by CurlsnSkirls on September 2, 2020 - 01:40

Ermmm… not at all! I can think of several folks who might be interested. . . 😆

  15. #44 by Dartmoor Creative on September 2, 2020 - 23:19

🙄 Crickey! Would a virtual hug help?
