I love it! And I appreciate Mr. Tialysβs talents! What kind of little bird is this new occupant?
#2 by tialys on April 16, 2021 - 17:11
Hello Carol. It’s a Blue Tit – very common in most of the U.K. but a pretty little bird.

Wow! How very satisfying! ππ

We always try very hard to make life easy for wild birds – probably to compensate for having cats. πΊπΈπΌπ

gosh, that was quick!
#6 by tialys on April 17, 2021 - 09:28
It was. We had a couple of birdhouses up in France and nobody ever took possession so I was thrilled to see this one occupied so quickly. There’s an old one on the garage wall which has a pair of sparrows in residence too.

That cute little face!
#10 by tialys on April 17, 2021 - 09:27
I know! He looks like he’s got a little mask on for safe viewing.

Oh I love it!
#12 by tialys on April 17, 2021 - 09:26
It’s a cheerful sight isn’t it?
#13 by magpiesue on April 17, 2021 - 00:06
That didn’t take long! Good job getting photos!
#14 by tialys on April 17, 2021 - 09:26
I had to get the telescopic lens out and stand very still.
#15 by kathyreeves on April 17, 2021 - 00:11
Great news!
#16 by tialys on April 17, 2021 - 09:25
I was amazed how quickly it was occupied.
#17 by Susan Nixon on April 17, 2021 - 00:55
You are so funny, but I’m happy you have a renter!
#18 by tialys on April 17, 2021 - 09:25
Always good to have a tenant in but, so far, only payment has been in white marks on our car parked underneath.
#19 by Laurie Graves on April 17, 2021 - 01:54
That’s one hot market. π
#20 by tialys on April 17, 2021 - 09:24
It is and everybody’s after country properties at the moment to get out of the cities if they can.
I only wish our French house would move so quickly.
#21 by Laurie Graves on April 17, 2021 - 15:06
Oh, hope it sells soon!
#22 by katechiconi on April 17, 2021 - 02:39
That’s an extremely prosperous looking blue tit; has he been enjoying the local amenities (bird feeder)? And more importantly, is the hole big enough…?
#23 by tialys on April 17, 2021 - 09:23
Only just I think but it is being used and at least it will stop anything bigger getting in.
#24 by Emmely on April 17, 2021 - 05:51
That is so cute!
#25 by tialys on April 17, 2021 - 09:22
I like his little black mask. It was a covid safe transaction.

That’s wonderful. Hope they stay and you get to enjoy the fledglings too.
#29 by tialys on April 19, 2021 - 10:04
I think they are here to stay. The male comes out every day to beat up his rival in the wing mirror of the car π€£
#30 by DawnGillDesigns on April 19, 2021 - 12:41
oh, bless!!
#31 by craftycreeky on April 17, 2021 - 12:27
That’s wonderful, I don’t think I have any takers in my boxes π
#32 by tialys on April 19, 2021 - 10:03
We never had any takers when we put boxes up in France but we have sparrows in a box that was already here, the blue tits in the new one and we just put another one up yesterday so are waiting to see if that gets attracts any residents.
#33 by nanacathy2 on April 17, 2021 - 14:06
So exciting, I love watching the birds raise their babes.
#34 by tialys on April 19, 2021 - 10:02
I just worry about the cats watching too.
#35 by sew2pro on April 26, 2021 - 20:35
I have an update! They (the bluetits) moved in a week ago. We had two days of frenetic activity which has quietened down but they’re definitely in there. Cat completely uninterested!
#36 by tialys on April 27, 2021 - 15:50
Well, I’d thank my lucky stars the cat isn’t interested We have some goldfinch flying in and out of the top of a honeysuckle covered arch with lengths of sheep wool they’ve taken from the fences. I wouldn’t mind but we put a string of solar fairy lights around the arch a couple of days ago so I hope they’re not bothered by a nightlight.
