Shocking Statistic (2)

Well, not shocking exactly, just amazing.

I was making my daughter a honey and lemon soothing drink for her sore throat and then, coincidentally, read these statistics about honey which I thought were interesting.

Over its lifetime – around 30 days in the summer – a single worker bee will produce approximately one twelth of a teaspoon of honey.     (from The Independent)

A pound of clover honey requires nectar from eight million flowers.  (from The Independent)

No wonder that bear’s holding on tight.  I’m not going to complain about the price of it again.

mmm that is food for thought but I love honey so it is worth it for me maybe not for the bees though.
